Show: OVERCOME EMOTION TOUR 2009
Band: ONE OK ROCK
Place: Kumamoto DRUM BE-9, Japan
Date: 2009.09.15, tue
Time: 19:00

So. I was on Kumamoto DRUM BE-9 show, I had made some friends at mixi (japanese community) who also would attend this show. One of them, a girl in high school years (around 4-5 yrs younger than me then), said that she and her friends would go to the live house early to see them coming. I wasn't sure if I would go, I mean the show would start 7pm and she was planning to be there around 1pm..!! But, since I didn't have any plans that day and since I would never experience something likely in near future, why not?

So I went there around 1pm, and found her and her two friends. OOR where just unpacking things from the big car, yes, the members too. Taka had a mask on, the others weren't. Toru had gotten his hair blond, Ryota had a little beard, Tomoya was the same. There were a few other girls there too, and two of them had been on other shows earlier this month. We just stand there and watched them pulling every stuff out of the car, my friend Kazumi said "Oh, I so wanna go and help them :P". But they went in, took the elevator downstairs and didn't appear. So a few girls went other place, we sat down near the entrance talking.

And after some 20 min or something, Ryota came out with a cig on his right hand and some small papers on his other hand. We took our cameras and pens and papers and followed him, asked if he could write his autograph and take pics with us. He said he was in a hurry so if we do it fast. So every one of us got an autograph and a pic of him and oneself <3 Then he started to walk as one of my friends said "Hm..where did my pen go??" and we looked and I said "Oh, Ryota took it xD" So two of us ran to him and asked for the pen xD

After that, Ryota came back, and there were no motions at all for some hour. We talked stuff, and it appeared that three of four of us were playing bass (including me), the last girl plays guitar. So we talked music stuff too, it was fun!

Then I don't know how much time ran, but Taka came out with a staff, so we asked for autographs but he said "When I return if it's okay?", so we said it was okay and had our hopes waiting.

After a while, Ryota and Tomoya came out with masks and started to jog, so we waited for their return, and they came back some 10mins from the other way. We took our stuff and asked Tomoya for autographs and photos. We got both and he posed with the mask on xD unfortunately... But we were so excited that we even got to meet him so, we were quite satisfied anyway. But Taka didn't came back for a looong while, we wondered what really happened.

But after a loong wait he came back, so we went to him. He was very polite and asked if we were students, I said I wasn't. He asked "what happened with school? It's important to go you know" and they were "Yeah, we know but today we just couldn't be there because of the show." And he said "Well, I didn't go to school sometimes too, hehe". He shaked hands with everyone of us, wrote autographs and took pics and just was very open and polite! He was shorter than I expected, probably about 1m65cm or something, definitely not over 1m70cm. The two guys who were friends of Kazumi were much bigger in heigh than Taka, both high schoolers. And so he went towards the entrance, was polite to the other fans who were outside. Much service :) The thing I was regretting so much was that I didn't told him I came all the way from Sweden when we talked. Why the hell didn't I say???

We waited for the last one, the leader Toru, but he never showed up. Some more people came, but not many. They started to sell tour goods, I bought the pink T-shirt and two towels, should've bought the other T-shirt instead, but I had to think of money, so...When we bought our T-shirts, we went to nearest convenience store to change into the tour T-shirts, buy something to eat. My friends hadn't eaten since morning, or Kazumi didn't even eat breakfast that day..!!

So it neared the time to get inside, we got lined up, numbers 1-50 first, 51-100 second and me in 101-150 row, my friends in 150-up. We got inside after a wait, fortunately there were still some lockers left to put our bags in, and then we stand. First we stood in the middle, two long people in front of us shorties... Then some polite fans said we could go in front of them, one step down (it was small steps, so that people in the back stood over the people ahead). When the opening music started, me and two friends were able to get forward a bit, so we stood in the middle a bit in front, but on a step so that we could see over the heads in front of us. Very good place in my opinion, maybe the best too.

The members came in, I thought that it would get tighter around me, but either the fans wasn't so pushy or there weren't so many people wanting to get in the front. So we had some space, the airconditioner could blow air around us, so much space. So, the songs were the following. The order isn't right, I don't know if I will be able to get the correct setlist, but better this than nothing:

The songs that were played this show:
CONVINCING
MelodyLineの死亡率 (Melody Line no Shibouritsu)
燦さん星 (San san boshi)

Encore - keep it real

At the first MC, Taka spoke about they being happy that there were so many people coming to their "first one man tour". He said "first time" and "first tour", "let me introduce for the first time". The band really has put this as a brand new start, after the incident with Alex. They've come out as a new band. So Taka said stuff like "It makes me so happy that you know the songs already even if this is our first appearance". (OK, for me it was the first time to see them live, except the live dvds I've seen).

The second MC, Toru started talking about their Kumamoto experience. It was the first time for them to come here, so they had walked the arcade the day before (I'm walking there almost every day, EXCEPT this day they were walking! xO )

Toru spoke about them eating Basashi (Raw horse meat, Kumamoto's famous food, I haven't tasted it yet, but it is said to be delicious, though people may think of the horse itself and can't eat, Toru and Taka also said that during the MC). They liked it, but some of their staff couldn't eat it because they were thinking of horses running happily..haha

During Crazy Botch, Taka started their member introduction. Like "On bass we have....RYOTA" etc.

I don't remember when, but Taka asked the audience who were from Kumamoto, many hands raised, as expected, but he also said "Ok, so there are people from elsewhere too". And I was screaming "SWEDEN!!" and people around me were like "whoaa!" And Taka and Toru were like "What? Sweden?? 8O" Taka asked once again "What did you say you were from?" And I said "Sweden :)" Toru said, "How international!" Taka said "Yeah, Sweden, far away..!". And then a girl from the back said "China!" Taka said "Oh, China! Isn't that faraway too??" And he continues "How do you say, Nihao ma?" and the girl said "Yeah, Nihao ma" and Toru asked "What does that mean?" The girl said "Good day", and they were like "Aaah!".So I had the chance to say that people from overseas also love them ;) (Because I had this regret from earlier today that I didn't tell Taka I was from elsewhere :P)

The tension wasn't that high in the audience, like during the small pauses they had when they drank water and changed instruments, no one screamed member names or yelled happily or anything... So that was kinda boring, I'm so used that people scream member names and stuff during the silent moments. And I think OOR was used to it too, because they said "We were in Shikoku (a part of Japan) and the audience were easy to communicate with. You know we're from Tokyo, and the atmosphere here (Kumamoto) and there are different, the people are a bit different too." So I think OOR also felt that the tension was a bit different. Maybe because there were many young fans that attended their show for the first time, also there were elder fans (like mother-age fans). But Taka and Toru said that they were happy to see that there were a lot of guys here. And as I saw too, there were quite many guys here and there and I was happy for that too, I mean their music is that type that can be heard by both genders, maybe more guys-music in my opinion... Anyway.. The tension was eeh... But not mine, and some few others too. I was screaming "yeeaah, woooo!!" and stuff, jumping, head banging and all :P So the fan behind me pushed me lightly on my back from time to time when I was too close. So I said "I'm sorry I'm so high tensioned and jumping so much! If I hit you, I'm really sorry!! x)" But the fan was very polite and she said "It's okay :)", such a sweet person!! (Usually people get upset, but not her :) )

OOR throwed away a towel, Toru a pick that hit a guy near us, but the polite fan behind me finally found the pick, and I'm glad it was her that found it :)Tomoya throwed away both his drum sticks, one girl from earlier today (that had been on other shows earlier this month) had catched it... I couldn't catch anything, but I'm happy I got autographs and pics with three members xD

The encore call was different, I thought it would be like usual "Ecore! Encore!" with claps. But this one was fast as hell! "Wan-oku!" clap-clap-clap in high speed I couldn't catch up some times, and hadn't the strenght to scream everytime either.
They came out and ended with "keep it real". So happy to hear that song!!

OOOH!! I CAN'T FORGET! :D
Taka took the guitar and played-singed two or three songs with it at the beginning. But he later said it's too hard to play and sing at the same time, so he won't take the guitar from now on (from that point at the show to the end of the show, he'll probably play it at the other shows too). I totally understand him, I can't play bass and sing at the same time either, it ends up me singing the same tone as I'm playing the bass xD
But Taka made it anyway ;)

At one MC (Sorry, memories pop up here and there...and I'm writing as I remember, so the order isn't like this AT ALL). Ok, start from the top, at one MC Taka started to talk about their beginnig and all, I wrote somewhere at the start, he talked about, even if one person couldn't make the dream come true, one could find another way in life even if one maybe not likes oneself at that point. They didn't way Alex's name once, but you knew Taka was talking about Alex. He also said that after this tragic incident, it all went white inside the head and they didn't know how to deal, how to go forward at all, putting the ongoing tour a sudden end.But that they're happy so many people came.

In my opinion, I think they are really fast, I mean less than half a year and they're on foot again! It's amazing! And I'm very happy about it too!! It's probably not easy at all to get on feet again after what happend. But Taka also said that something like this maybe should happen, or it won't be natural at all. And he's probably right, I mean we've seen much worse things happen to other rock bands during years, but that's "Rock". It's a part of Rock. Ok, back on track now.

So it ended with "keep it real" and we stood there and just jumping out of happiness of this great show and everything, so high tensioned!! We got our stuff and got a drink. Even if the airconditioner was on all the time, it went very hot and the sweat was dropping everywhere all the time, clothes getting all wet and stuff. But I was quite happy it wasn't that pushy during the show. I've heard that it was very pushy at shows like the one in Tokyo. So I was expecting worse, but it was good and safe.

We got outside and was walking towards bus stations and bicycles, took some purikuras before saying goodbye to everyone.
I had missed my bus with 5min, the last bus going 45min later, so I walked back to the arcade, got inside the Mister Donut, ate my dinner and got back to the bus station. All the time, the day spinned inside my head making me smile hehe.

And today my body aches, mostly my neck and sides... but it's a happy me!
